Environment

  • CB PSC Linux Sensor: 2.5.0
  • Red Hat 6/7
  • CentOS 6/7

Symptoms

Console-initiated upgrade failures

Cause

Known Issue due to low bandwidth environments

Resolution

VMware Carbon Black is aware of the issue and is working on code changes to better handle these type of environments

Additional Notes

  • Upgrade failures will not typically leave the Linux sensor in a broken state, rather, the upgrade simply fails
  • If the connection issues are resolved, the sensor upgrade can be tried again
  • If there is always poor connection, the sensor should be installed locally
