PSC: How to Enable Google Two-Factor Authentication

PSC: How to Enable Google Two-Factor Authentication

Environment

  • PSC Console: All Versions
    • CB Defense
    • CB LiveOps
    • CB ThreatHunter
    • CB ThreatSight
  • Google Authenticator

Objective

Explain how to set up Google two-factor authentication for the Predictive Security Cloud (PSC)

Resolution

Best Practice: Open a second tab or window after logging into Console, and make changes to 2fa settings there. This allows any changes to be reverted without the need for a Support case in case values were entered incorrectly.
  1. Go to Settings > Users
  2. Under Enable two-factor authentication, click Google Authenticator
  3. Click Confirm to confirm that you want to enable Google Authenticator for everyone in your organization who will sign in to the Carbon Black Cloud console
  4. Sign out, then log back into the Carbon Black Cloud console
  5. Download and install the iOS or Android Google Authenticator app on your mobile device
  6. Open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device and scan the barcode to complete the Google 2FA setup process (pop-up modal window confirms Google 2FA is activated)
  7. Enter the 6-digit code that appears on your mobile device to authenticate into the Carbon Black Cloud console
