Skipping/bypassing iptables update when executing cbinit with INPUT_FILE for automation

Version

All version of Cb Response

Topic

When executing cbinit after Cb Response server install with an INPUT_FILE option the execution can fail if iptables update is restricted.  There may also be cases where iptables update is not desired and the following steps will allow you to bypass/skip iptables update.

/usr/share/cb/cbinit --help
Usage: cbinit [options] [INPUT_FILE]

Steps

  1. Edit your INPUT_FILE and add the following parameter:
    manage_iptables=0
  2. Save your changes to the INPUT_FILE and execute cbinit

Important Note(s)

Bypassing iptables update is only recommended if there are no port restrictions on the server or if you have previously updated the iptables manually
