Workload: Sensor Update Feature Does Not Have Acknowledgment A Reboot May Be Required

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Console: All Versions
    • Workload
  • Carbon Black Cloud Windows Sensor: 3.6 and Higher
  • Microsoft Windows: Supported Workload Versions
  • Carbon Black Cloud Linux Sensor: 2.9.0-2.9.2
  • Linux: Supported Workload Versions

Symptoms

From Vm Workloads Page
  1. Inventory page
  2. Vm Workloads
  3. Select sensor(s) for upgrade
  4. Take action --> Update sensors
  5. Select version
  6. Update to proceed 
From Endpoints Tab
  1. Inventory page
  2. Endpoints
  3. Select sensor(s) for upgrade
  4. Take action --> Update sensors
  5. Select version
  6. Check box for "I understand that devices may be rebooted." appears
  7. Update to proceed 

Cause

Current findings are that the Endlpoints page prompts for the checkbox but the Workload page does not. 

Resolution

This is by design. CBC Workloads do not require reboot when upgrading.
