Comments

This document says that version 6.2.6 of the CB Response Sensor is compatible with MacOS 10.15 (Catalina). Where can I download this?

Thanks,

@bclark-gc The announcement claiming support for Catalina on CB Response 6.2.6-osx sensor can be found here. It will also have links to release notes for the sensor with installation instructions.

Hi,

I am new to CB Response and CB Protect so please excuse my questions.

Are CB Protect Agents and CB Response Sensors separate agents? Are they separate installs?

What is the main difference between CB Protect and CB Response from a user perspective?

Thanks

pgc

I see that they are separate installs

Is Ubuntu 16 supported ?

I have a generic Linux installed from Carbon Black, but cannot see how this will work on Ubuntu.

Hi @alpe ,

For App Control (Formerly CB Protection) - There is no support for Ubuntu - Feel free to add your voice and vote to the following Idea posted at the start of 2020:

https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Idea-Central/CBP-support-for-Ubuntu-Servers-amp-Desktops/idi-p/...

For EDR (Formerly CB Response) - There is No Support currently for Ubuntu. On June 5th 2020 - @stanner indicated here (https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Idea-Central/Support-for-Ubuntu-servers-desktops/idc-p/90513) the following:

Status changed to: Product Radar...

We will be expanding our Linux distributions on the Carbon Black Cloud (CB Defense, Threat Hunter, LiveOps, etc.) and our EDR product (Response) in the latter half of this year.

For Carbon Black Cloud (Formerly PSC) - Ubuntu is Supported Only with Audit & Remediation (Formerly CB Live Ops), however, on July 1st 2020 - @mlinde indicates here (https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Documentation-Downloads/Carbon-Black-Cloud-sensor-Linux-sensor-...) the following"

We are actively working on 4.x+ kernel support on RHEL8, SUSE, CentOS8, Oracle8, Amazon Linux and Ubuntu. The first milestone we are looking towards is Enterprise EDR support (formerly CB ThreatHunter) at the end of the year. Endpoint Standard (formerly CB Defense) will follow.

I hope that helps some.

Do you have the updated information with the 8.5 linux agent compatibility?

@david-ds  In the 8.5.0 Linux agent there were not any new supported versions. Please stay tuned for the 8.5.2 release which will contain support for RHEL 7.9.

Hello, where are the agent installers? There is no link on this page.

For App Control I usually go here. For EDR I pull them using the console.

Attention:

As of 1 March 2022, the support information for each App Control Agent or EDR Sensor is published on VMware Docs as distinct OERs. On the respective App Control or EDR documentation page on VMware Docs, you will see the Sensor or Agent OER documents grouped together.

Also of note: The pages related to CB EDR Sensors & CB App Control Agents will remain available but will no longer be updated.

We hope you find the continued consolidation and improvement of our Carbon Black content on VMware Docs beneficial.
