App Control: How To Bind a New Certificate to Parity Web Console in IIS

Environment

  • App Control: All Versions
  • Microsoft Windows Server: All Supported Versions

Objective

To bind a new certificate to port 443, for the Parity Web Console in IIS.

Resolution

  1. On the App Control server, go to Start > Run > type “inetmgr" > click OK.
  2. The Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager will open.
  3. On the IIS Manager navigation tree on the left-pane, select the server name.
  4. Open "Server Certificates" in the right hand pane.
  5. If no longer needed, delete the old CB Protection certificate.
  6. Under the “Actions”, click on “Import”.
  7. Click "..." to browse and select the the certificate to import.
  8. Provide the password and click Ok.
  9. On the IIS Manager navigation tree on the left-pane, expand “Sites” and select “Parity Console Web”.
  10. On the right hand pane under “Actions” select “Bindings…”
  11. Click on https 443 > Click Edit.
  12. On the “SSL certificate” drop-down, select the new certificate you imported in step 6 > click OK.
  13. Open an administrative command window.
  14. Run the command "iisreset".
  15. Restart the Reporter and Server services:
    1. Go to Start > Run > type “services.msc" > click OK.
    2. Right click ​"CB Protection Server" (Bit9Server in 7.x)
    3. Select "Restart"
    4. Right click "CB Protection Reporter" (Bit9 Reporter in 7.x)
    5. Select "Restart"
