Objective
This article details how to collect diagnostic logs for SQL performance cases
Resolution
- Export SQL logs:
- Open SQL Management Studio
- Connect to the SQL instance hosting the DAS database
- Expand Management > right-click on SQL Server Logs > select View > select SQL Server Log > check the Current log > click Export
- Download the Performance Scripts from Attachments section
- Open SQL Server Management Studio
- Open a new script window
- Press CTRL+T to force output as a text file
- Run all attached scripts, using F5 to execute each one
- Save the results and attach to the case.
- Export the Windows Events for Application and System:
- Attach all of the above to the support case, or if the files are too large, please reach out to Support for an upload link.
- Please comment on your support case once the files are uploaded so that we are aware of the incoming files.
