App Control: How to Collect Historical Agent Logs Remotely for Troubleshooting

  • App Control (Formerly, CB Protection) Console: All Supported Versions

Objective

How to collect historical logs for an App Control Agent - ideal for unexpected blocks or other issues that cannot be reproduced

Resolution

  1. Log into the App Control console. 
  2. Navigate to Assets > Computers. 
  3. Select the computer in question. 
  4. In the right hand panel, select Other Actions > Upload Diagnostics > Go
  5. Give the device at least 15 minutes to upload. 
  6. Navigate to Tools > Requested Files > Diagnostic Files. 
  7. Download the Zip with the matching computer name. 
  8. Upload the zip file here: https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/CB-Vault/gp-p/g-4922
  9. Once the upload completes, please comment in your case letting support know its ready for review.
