Carbon Black Cloud: How To Uninstall/Deregister Sensors From the Web Console

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Console: All Versions
  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: All Versions
  • Apple MacOS: All Supported Versions
  • Linux: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Objective

Provide steps to uninstall or deregister a sensor via the Console

Resolution

  1. Log into Carbon Black Cloud Console
  2. Go to Endpoints page in the Left-Hand Menu 
  3. Search for and select the sensors to uninstall (search terms, filters, etc.)
  4. Select the Top checkbox next to 'Status' to select all displayed devices, OR select the checkbox to the left of the individual devices on the displayed list
  5. For devices that need to be uninstalled:
    1. Click Take Action > Uninstall (You may have to scroll down to see this option)
    2. Click Uninstall on the prompt to confirm Uninstallation of the selected devices
    3. Refresh the page to see the current status of the device(s) selected
  6. Deregister uninstalled devices
    1. Click Take Action > Delete deregistered assets
    2. Click Delete to confirm the deletion of assets
    3. Refresh the page to see the current status of the device(s) selected

Additional Notes

After a sensor is uninstalled, it persists on the Endpoints page until it is deleted (Delete Deregistered Devices)
