Endpoint Standard: How To Enable MD5 Hashing

Environment

  • CB Cloud (formerly PSC Console): All Versions
  • Endpoint Standard (formerly CB Defense): All Supported Versions

Objective

How to enable MD5 Hashing in the dashboard to search using MD5 as it is not enabled by default

Resolution

1. Login to the console and navigate to Enforce > Policies 
2. Select the policy that contains the group of machines that requires the changes and navigate to sensor
3. Enable Hash MD5 and click on save to make the changes
 

Additional Notes

  • MD5 hash will be calculated for any file analyzed by the sensor after the setting referenced above is enabled
  • MD5 hash will not be calculated retroactively for any files analyzed by the sensor prior to the setting being enabled
