Environment
Apple MacOS: All Supported Versions
Objective
To retrieve files from an unbootable Apple hard drive.
Resolution
Use
Target Disk Mode
to move files from an Apple hard drive using another MacOS endpoint.
Additional Notes
The administrator will require two MacOS endpoints to transfer files.
A MacOS placed into Target Mode will allow access to the system drive content as long as the issue is a system-based problem, and not an issue with the physical drive.
