App Control: How To Perform A Cache Consistency Check

Environment

  • App Control Console: All Supported Versions
  • App Control Agent: All Supported Versions

Objective

To run a Cache Consistency Check on a selected Agent.

Resolution

Individual Agent:
  1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Assets > Computers > relevant Computer.
  2. From the Computer Details page > right-hand menu > Advanced > Perform Cache Consistency Check.
  3. Select the desired level depth for the scan, as well as either of the "Preserve state of changed files" or "Re-evaluate publishers" options.
  4. Click Go.
Bulk Agents:
  1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Assets > Computers.
  2. Check the boxes next to the relevant computers.
  3. From the Action menu choose Perform Cache Consistency Check
  4. Choose the relevant Scan Level and desired additional options.
  5. Click Save.

Additional Notes

  • The scan is resource intensive, with deeper scans requiring more time and processing.
  • A best practice is to run the scan during non-peak hours or when the machine is not in use to ensure it completes in a timely manner.
  • The Agent will need to be in a Connected state to receive the command.
