App Control: How To Enable & Configure the SCCM Rapid Config

Environment

  • App Control Agent: All Supported Versions
  • App Control Console: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Objective

To enable and configure the Rapid Config for Microsoft SCCM.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Rules > Software Rules > Rapid Configs.
  2. Click View Details (pencil icon) for Microsoft SCCM.
  3. Change the Status to Enabled.
  4. In the UNC Paths box, specify the path(s) SCCM will write files to on the endpoints.
    Example:
    C:\Windows\ccmcache\
  5. Click Save & Exit.

Additional Notes

  • If necessary check with the internal SCCM team to determine what path(s) should be included.
  • When using this Rapid Config no Performance Optimization Rule or Kernel Exclusion should be created relating to SCCM.
  • The Agent must be able to track processes owned by SCCM writing files in order to issue the Local Approvals accordingly.
  • When the Rapid Config is enabled without a File Path specified, the default used is:
    *\ccm\cache*
    *\ccmcache\*
    <windows>\ccmsetup\*
