Objective

How to specify a SQL Server instance name with a non-default port during installation of App Control

Resolution

Enter the Database address in the format: 
SQLSERVERNAME\SQLINSTANCENAME,PORT

For example:

CBSQL01\MSSQLSERVER,1234
