App Control: Is the App Control Server Supported in Azure?

Environment

  • App Control Server: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows Server: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft SQL Server: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Azure: All Supported Versions

Question

Is the App Control Server software supported in Microsoft's Azure Cloud Computing?

Answer

The App Control Server software does support being installed in Microsoft Azure. Please be sure to review the VMware Docs > Server Documentation > Server Operating Environment Requirements > App Control Server Architecture by Endpoint Count.

Additional Notes

  • The App Control database must be installed in a supported Microsoft SQL Server environment, based on the number of expected endpoints.
  • Using a SQL Platform as a Service (such as Azure PaaS) is currently not supported.
  • While the App Control Server software can be deployed within cloud services, please be sure to review the Operating Environment Requirements (OER) to confirm compatibility.
  • Be sure to review the section, "Cloud Deployments" of the OER to obtain further specifics for the App Control Server version being deployed.
