How do you configure the IIS settings for a new CB Protection installation?

Resolution

  1. Check the following options in the IIS Roles Manager under the System Manager
    1. Common HTTP Features: 
      1.  Static Content 
      2. Default Document
      3. HTTP Errors
      4. HTTP Redirection
    2. Application development:
      1. ASP.NET (version 4.5) 
      2. .NET Extensibility (version 4.5)
      3. CGI
      4. ISAPI Extensions 
      5. ISAPI Filters
    3.  Health & Diagnostics: 
      1.  HTTP Logging
      2. Logging Tools
      3. Request Monitor 
      4. Tracing 
    4. Security: 
      1. URL Authorization 
      2. Request Filtering (Post, Put, Get, and Delete)
      3. IP and Domain Restrictions 
    5. Performance: None 
    6. Management Tools: 
      1. IIS Management Console 
      2. IIS Management Scripts and Tools 
      3. Management Service 
    7. FTP Publishing Service: None 

Additional Notes

  • Without the correct IIS settings, you can get 403 errors when you try to login the first time.
  • Incorrect IIS settings can also cause 404 errors when trying to make changes via the console.
