Hosted EDR: What are the TLS requirements for sensor to server communication?

Environment

  • Hosted EDR Server: All Versions
  • Hosted EDR Sensors: 6.2.X and higher

Question

What is the required level of TLS for the EDR Sensors to communicate with the Hosted EDR Server? 

Answer

Hosted EDR only supports TLS 1.2 for the 6.2.x and higher sensors.

Additional Notes

  • For any legacy OS incapable of TLS 1.2 communication, sensor version 6.1.x must be used
  • Sensor versions 6.2.1 and above are using a SHA2 certificate which is not supported by legacy OS
