CB Response: How to re-apply upgrade configurations for Response Server

CB Response: How to re-apply upgrade configurations for Response Server

Environment

  • CB Response Server: 6.X

Objective

Re-apply upgrade configurations to Response Server

Resolution

Upgrade can be re-applied through the following:
  1. Stop the Response Server/Cluster services: https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/Cb-Response-How-to-restart-server-services/ta-p/...
  2. Edit the /var/cb/data/SCHEMA_VERSION to point to previous Response build ID:
    From: 6.3.0.190325.2042
    To: 6.2.4.181112.1340
  3. Save the changes to SCHEMA_VERSION
  4. Run /usr/share/cb/cbupgrade
  5. Start the Response services

Additional Notes

Example Scenario:
  • Previous version of Response Server migrated to new Server, but new Server is running latest version of Response.
  • Due to migration of config files from previous version, latest version of Response may fail to start or login the user.
