CB ThreatHunter: threat_cause_actor_md5 field has a null value

CB ThreatHunter: threat_cause_actor_md5 field has a null value

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Alerts API: v6
  • PSC Linux Sensor: 2.5.0.328

Symptoms

An API call to:
  • /appservices/v6/orgs/<org_key_here>/alerts/_search HTTP/1.1
Will return the following field with the results:
  • "threat_cause_actor_md5"
The above field will contain a value of:
  • null

Cause

The cause of this issue is due to a defect within the PSC Linux Sensor

Resolution

A future release of the PSC Linux sensor will contain a fix for this issue. The specific version and timeline for the fix to be released is still to be determined.
