Carbon Black Cloud: Are Sensors Supported If Installed on a Supported OS Within a Container?

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: All Supported Versions
  • Operating Systems: All Supported Versions

Question

If a supported OS is installed within a container is it supported to install a sensor on it?

Answer

Sensors have not been tested running on operating systems within containers so even if they are able to install they are not supported at this time

Additional Notes

There is an enhancement request included below requesting support for sensors on containers
The 2.15.0 Linus sensor does introduce the feature for processing events originating from containers as mentioned here
