Environment

  • Endpoint Standard Web Console: All Versions
  • Carbon Black Cloud Linux Sensor: 2.1.0.149 and Higher
  • Linux: All Supported Versions

Question

Can the GROUP_NAME value be added to the install command to specify which policy should apply to the Sensor?

Answer

No, the sensor install process on Linux devices does not currently support the GROUP_NAME parameter, however, a policy can be assigned to the 2.8.3.300614 sensor (and greater) at install by following the steps outlined in this KB.

Additional Notes

  • Unless specified, the Sensor will initially be assigned the "Standard" policy
  • This can be changed in the PSC Console UI or using the API
