Computer Assets page in Bit9 Console displays all IPv6 instead of IPv4

Version
All.

Topic
This document describes how to change the IP version used by the Bit9 Server to Bit9 Agent communication. If your Windows Server is configured with a higher precedence for IPv6, Bit9 Agents will attempt to connect via IPv6 first. This solution provides information on how to modify these settings to force your Windows Server to prefer a connection using IPv4 instead.

Steps

Bit9 Server to Agent connectivity is controlled by the IPv6 prefix table of your Microsoft Server installation. Since this is purely a Microsoft Server configuration, we recommend contacting the vendor for instructions. A helpful article by Microsoft is provided in the Important Note(s) section of this solution. You will need to determine what configuration change fits your environment: disable IPv6 or prefer IPv4 over IPv6.

After IPv4 precedence is established, a restart of the Bit9 Services (Bit9 Server and Reporter) is necessary.
