EDR: Server Fails to Install in Environment Without en_US.UTF-8 Enabled

Environment

  • EDR Server: All Versions

Symptoms

Running cbinit fails at setting up Postgres
initdb: Locale name "en_US.UTF-8" is invalid.
DB instance creation failed (1)

Cause

The product is currently designed to set up Postgres with en_US.UTF-8

Resolution

The server must have en_US.UTF-8 installed on the server. 

Additional Notes

en_US.UTF-8 must be installed, but does not have to be set as the default $LANG value
