EDR: “Unable to determine Compatibility Control status. Endpoint reboot may be required” Error Received After Installing 7.0.1 Sensor To Mac OS Endpoint

Environment

  • EDR Server: 7.1.1 and Higher
  • EDR Sensor: 7.0.1 and Higher
  • MacOS: 11.0 and Higher

Symptoms

  • Receive “Unable to determine Compatibility Control status. Endpoint reboot may be required” message on Sensors page for Mac endpoint after install of sensor.
  • Sensor health score shows 90/100.

Cause

Caused by health score calculation dependencies on KEXTs, which are not used in Mac OS 11.

Resolution

This is a known issue (CB-30367) and will be resolved in a future release of the EDR Mac sensor.
