Error in generating Bit9 agent installer for Linux

Error in generating Bit9 agent installer for Linux

Version

7.2.x

Issue

Error on generating Bit9 agent installer for Linux.

Symptoms

Server log shows the following error message:

(10100 PackageGeneration) GenerateLinuxTgz base package 'D:\Program Files (x86)\Bit9\Parity Server\hostpkg\b9agentRedhat6.rpm' does not exist, error: 2

(10100 PackageGeneration) Failure to generate Linux tgz file for host group[policy name here]

Cause

The base rpm installer file has a different name than what the package generation process is looking for.

Solution

This issue is resolved on 7.2.0 patch 7.

The work around is to go on the Bit9 server and browse to %program files%\Bit9\Parity Server\hostpkg folder. Please rename the following files:

b9agent.rpm -> b9agentRedhat6.rpm

b9notifier.rpm -> b9notifierRedhat6.rpm

Restart your Bit9 Server service.
