Network executions are not running from new Trusted Path

Network executions are not running from new Trusted Path

Issue

Added a Trusted Path and attempted to install an application from that new path but the temporary .msi it creates is blocked as "Pending".

Cause

Because the application installation had been attempted PRIOR to configuring the Trusted Path the temporary .msi in: c:\windows\installer already existed in a "pending" state. It was "pending" because the first time it ran, prior to the Trusted Path being implemented, it was not run by a trusted/blessed process and was not being rewritten.

Solution

Delete the existing copy of the temporary .msi and re-launch the installation. By deleting and then running from the Trusted Path the temporary .msi was recreated, now by a Trusted/Blessed process and therefore trusted itself and allowed to run to normal completion.
