Receiving create file errors when using event rules to upload files

Version

Bit9 Server 7.x.

Issue

When using an event rule to upload a file to a network share automatically, you receive the following error when testing the upload folder: Create file error: Access is denied.

Symptoms

Receiving the create file error when testing an upload file action in event rules.

Cause

When performing an upload action via the event rules, the file is sent from the agent machine, to the Bit9 Server, and then the Bit9 Server performs the upload to the specified path.

Solution

Ensure that the Bit9 service account (the account that is running the Bit9 Server services) has read/write permissions to the specified path.
