App Control: What Does the "Resources on SQL Server Instance" Chart Mean?

Environment

  • App Control Server: All Supported Versions

Question

  • Getting the OER alert "The Carbon Black App Control database is consuming less than 95% of the CPU cycles on your SQL Server Instance."
  • The "Resources on SQL Server Instance" chart doesn't seem to reflect actual CPU usage

Answer

  • This alert is just saying that App Control is using less than 95% of the resources being used
  • The charts represent a percentage of the resources being used and by what application, not the percentage of the CPU utilization at the time.
