App Control: Why Are Per-Agent CLI Passwords Missing in 8.1.4 and Higher?

Environment

  • App Control Console: 8.1.4 and Higher

Question

Why are per-agent CLI passwords missing in 8.1.4 and Higher?

Answer

Per-agent CLI passwords were disabled in the 8.1.4 release of App Control (Formerly CB Protection). By design the endpoint specific CLI password was low entropy. We now recommend using a Global Password, or Users / Groups to manage agents.
