Carbon Black Cloud: Does the Sensor Retain Its Last Valid Connection After a Reboot?

Carbon Black Cloud: Does the Sensor Retain Its Last Valid Connection After a Reboot?

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: All Supported Versions

Question

If a Sensor is rebooted, or the service restarts, will it recall the last known working settings when attempting to connect to the cloud?

Answer

Yes, working connections are written to the Sensor database and will persist through restarts.

Additional Notes

New successful connections are stored in order of recency, so the last known-good connection to the backend will be the first one read from the database.
