Carbon Black Cloud: Kernel Crash During Reboot After Upgrading to Linux Sensor 2.13.x

Environment

  • RHEL/CentOS: 7.9
  • Linux Sensor: 2.13.3

Symptoms

  • After upgrading Linux sensor during reboot the kernel crashes
  • Error may be seen ec_mem_cache_get: Cache entry magic does not match. Failed to free memory

Cause

Known issue unloading older driver until reboot

Resolution

Upgrade to sensor version 2.14.1 or higher where this issue was fixed
