Carbon Black Cloud: What happens when a Carbon Black Cloud license expires

Carbon Black Cloud: What happens when a Carbon Black Cloud license expires

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Console: All versions

Question

What happens when a Carbon Black Cloud console license expires?

Answer

  • The console will remain available for a 30 day grace period.
  • If the license is not renewed within the 30 day grace period the org will be decommissioned.

Additional Notes

  • Once an org is decommissioned all sensor communication is permanently lost.
  • If you do not plan to renew the license please uninstall all sensors before the grace period ends.
  • Best practice is to document the global sensor deregistration code in the event all sensors do not get uninstalled.
  • After decommissioning any remaining sensors will require local uninstall.
  • If require deregistration code was enabled by policy that code will be required for sensor uninstall.
