Carbon Black Console: Unable to Delete Expired Pending Installs

Carbon Black Console: Unable to Delete Expired Pending Installs

Environment

Carbon Black Console: All Versions

Symptoms

Using the steps noted below to remove the expired installs from the console do not complete.
  1. Filter to Pending Install status
  2. Select desired devices
  3. Go to Take action > Uninstall sensors
  4. Go to Take action > Delete deregistered assets

Cause

Since the 1.20 release there have been reports of issues into the visibility of Pending Install endpoints on the Inventory page. These pending installs are all expired. Attempts to use the trashcan icon in line with the device name or in the device details pane results in an error: Only pending invitations can be deleted'
Attempts to remove these entries via the Take Action menu with either Uninstall or Delete Deregistered Devices likewise fails.

Resolution

There is active work being done to address the changes needed for the feature to work again. This article will be updated when the fix is impletmented and release notes will highlight this as well.
