Carbon Black EDR Supported Versions Grid

Carbon Black EDR Supported Versions Grid

VMware Carbon Black EDR/Hosted EDR Supported Versions

The Support Grid for VMware Carbon Black EDR and VMware Carbon Black Hosted EDR supported versions details version numbers, support status and the End of Support date. This Support Grid will be accurate as of release of the 7-series server. The VMware Carbon Black EDR team will be maintaining and keeping this document up-to-date going forward. Please refer to the VMware Carbon Black EDR/Hosted EDR Product Lifecycle Support document for details on this policy.

https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Documentation-Downloads/Carbon-Black-EDR-Supported-Versions-Gri...

End of Support is triggered when a release falls outside the window of “Latest and previous 2 versions.” The exact end of support date is determined by release cadence and/or OS currency requirements. These considerations may impact the End of Support date based on the support policy.  However, every version will be in support for at least 1 year from it’s GA (General Availability) date. In the tables below, End of Support dates in parenthesis ( ) indicate the earliest possible date that version could leave support. The actual End of Support dates, shown without parenthesis ( ), can be later, but will never be sooner. This table will be updated as we release new versions.

Good morning.

This is excellent documentation.

Do you have one just like this for CB Defense/PSC ?

Thank you in advance!!!

Good morning.

Thank you for this information.

It definitely helps!

sorry, the release notes link above didn't appear to come through properly...I updated it.

@esullivan does CB response has agent for Windows 10 enterprise Multi-session?

@atorabi sorry sir...I do not know the answer to that.

@esullivan @amcadams i think this is not update yet, i upgraded my server to 7.1.1.

its not listed here.

@GauatmThombre thank you for the ping on this. Hopefully he team updates the document shortly.

@esullivan That's Cool, Thanks for quick reply.

What about sensors for Ubuntu/Debian OSes?

@esullivan can you please verify if details for server 7.1.1 us update?

i am concerned which one is the latest version, so i need to plan further. i have 4 different environment.

Hello @GauatmThombre unfortunately I cannot, but hopefully one of the other doc contributors can address your question.

Thank you
Ed

Hi team:

I Realise Oracle RHCK is not in the supported list under Linux.  There has been confusion that Oracle RHCK is not longer supported based on this doc

For reference, based on what @dhoi mentioned above, regarding Oracle RHCK support...

[CB Response Sensors & CB Protection Agents: Linux]
https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Documentation-Downloads/CB-Response-Sensors-amp-CB-Protection-A...

Hi Team:

First of all, is there a matrix to indicate the minimal version of the sensor that is supported with each release EDR server version?  E.g. EDR 7.3 must have at least 6.2.5-win, EDR 7.2 must have at least 6.1.11-lnx, etc. Customers in Asia have feedback that our life-cycle is too short.  By the time they finish upgrading the EDR server to the latest N-1/N-2 version and upgrade of sensors, the GA support will be over in a few months.  Since we can prevent the sensors from been automatically upgraded after a EDR server upgrade, having such info will give the customer  a peace of mind that the current deployed sensor versions still can work work the upgraded EDR server, until the minimal sensor version cannot be supported anymore.  I believe most customers have the false impression that when you upgrade the EDR server, sensors have to be upgraded as well, else things will break

Secondly, I have a few customers where they have deployed our 6.2.3-win sensor on Microsoft Win 10 LTSB, and there isnt plan to upgrade these OS for the next 3-5 years.  In essence, it is like OT network with fixed configurations.  In such situations, they do not want to upgrade their EDR server and current deployed sensors.  In these situations, how can we extend the support for outdated EDR and sensor versions, provided the resolution to the bugs reported to our tech support is not already provided in later supported versions?
